Mirrá Speedrunning Rules
Okay, the rules for this are really simple, so pay attention damn it. :P
1) Record all demos using doom.exe (715,493 bytes)
2) Don't cheat, you bastard.
3) There are 4 catagories for each level (except the boss levels) and for each episode as a whole.
---Catagory Requirements---
For single level runs:
Ultra-Violence Speed: Exit the level on skill 4.
Ultra-Violence MAX: Exit the level with 100% kills and secrets on skill 4.
Nightmare Speed: Exit the level on skill 5.
Nightmare 100s: Exit the level with 100% secrets on skill 5.
E1M3, E2M5, E3M6, E4M2 have seperate normal exit and secret exit catagories for UV speed and NM speed.
UV Max and N100s
Note: Due to level errors, E4M3 only requires 90% secrets and E4M7 only requires 50% secrets.
For episode runs:
Ultra-Violence Speed: Beat the whole episode on skill 4.
Ultra-Violence MAX: Beat the whole episode with 100% kills and secrets on skill 4, you must visit
the secret level too.
Nightmare Speed: Beat the whole episode on skill 5.
Nightmare 100s: Beat the whole episode with 100% secrets on skill 5, you must visit the secret.
level too.
Note: Due to level errors, E4M3 only requires 90% secrets and E4M7 only requires 50% secrets.
4) All submitted demos must include a filled out form based off the following templates.
[Single Level Runs]
[Episode Runs]
The txt file and the demo are to be named according to the following convention.
(Where x = episode number, y = level number, and t = time)
For single level runs:
Ultra-Violence Speed: ExMy-ttt
Ultra-Violence Speed (secret exit): ExMysttt
Ultra-Violence MAX: ExMy-ttt
Nightmare Speed: NxMy-ttt
Nightmare Speed (secret exit): NxMysttt
Nightmare 100s: NxSy-ttt
So, for example, if you beat Episode 2, level 3 on skill 4 in 4:54, you would name the demo
e2m3-454.lmp and the filled out form e2m3-454.txt, zip both files into e2m3-454.zip and
submit it.
It's really not that complicated. :)
Additional Note: In the template form you'll see that we also judge single player runs by milliseconds,
many of you may not know how to get that value. It's okay, if you do know, then fill
it out, if you don't, then don't. I will. I would appreciate however that all players
that know how to fill it out please do. :)
For episode runs:
Ultra-Violence Speed: Ex-ttttt
Ultra-Violence MAX: Ex-ttttt
Nightmare Speed: Nx-ttttt
Nightmare 100s: NxSttttt
--
In Episode runs the times are calculated by taking the intermission time for each level included
in the run (except the boss levels as they obviously don't display a time) and then add them up.
Milliseconds DO NOT count here because they would add up and it would just freakin' suck.
--
So, for example, if you beat Episode 2 on skill 5 with 100% secrets in 56:23 you would name the
demo n2s05623.lmp and the filled out form n2s05623.txt, zip both files into n2s05623.zip and
submit it.
Here is a sample filled out form.
5) After you have your demo all zipped up and ready email it as an attachment to mirraincoming@slimy.com.
It will be uploaded, and the pages modified to accomidate for it.
6) Incase you're wondering how points are awarded, it's really simple.
If there are 3 demos for a certain category on a level.
1st place gets 3 points
2nd place gets 2 points
3rd place gets 1 point
Depending on how many demos there are for a certian run, the number of points awarded for
first place goes up. If there are 7 demos for a run, then 1st place gets 7 points.
I guess that pretty much explains it.
For episode movies however, the scoring is different.
1st place gets 15 points
2nd place gets 10 points
3rd place gets 5 points.
etc, It's a really easy concept to get used to. :)
Really what this means is that points are awarded based off a) your performance and
b) the interest in any given level.
