July 1999-March 2000 (part time) Integrated Perl and the WebTV event system intergration into syslog, and other similar software projects. Feb 97-Dec 98 ASIC designer at WebTV, (later Microsoft) Designed IR transmitter control logic, and a dma engine for two generations of the WebTV set-top box. Feb 94-Feb 97: ASIC designer at Sun Microsystems in graphics hardware. Worked on a team of 8 ASIC designers on Creator/Creator3D cards and successors, responsible for timing analysis (Motive), UPA bus interface (shipped first silicon). Summer 1993: HP ICBD, worked on software to support the experimental chip fab (mostly runsheet editor software). Summer 1989 & 1990: Sun Microsystems. Wrote graphics demos in C/PHIGS/Sunview. Summer 1988: Volunteered at NASA Ames, doing computational chemistry of ion traps in Fortran on Cray-2's and VAX's.
